1 Thursday, September 21, 2017 Warm-Up: Explain how you plan to separate the two liquids in the mixture. Learning Target: I can follow my previous plan to separate substances from a mixture AND evaluate/modify the plan as needed. Success Criteria: I will be successful when all items are separated and analysis of the investigation is completed. Plan for Today 1. Vocabulary 2. Review Lab/Safety/Separate the Mixture/Diagram 3. CLEAN-UP!!! 4. Analysis Questions/Activity 4

2 Vocabulary Evidence: observations or data to support a statement, hypothesis, or point of view Hazardous Materials: any solid, liquid, or gas that can harm people, other living organisms, property, or the environment Toxic: poisonous; the capability of a substance to cause harm to living systems

PROCEDURE and DATA: Materials: Procedure: Read A-20 Data: WS 5.1 (Some parts done in this lab.) DO AN EXTRA GOOD JOB CLEANING OIL OFF ! *If done with lab early get started on Analysis Questions and Activity 4! Vancouver 2015

6 When done separating the mixture:
CLEAN-UP entirely! Wash the equipment. Wipe off your table. Return the mixture to a small cup. Dry all materials. Return materials to the plastic bin. Put in back of room. When done with clean-up: Finish your diagram. Make sure it is neat, organized, and labeled. Finish Analysis Questions #1-3 on page A-20. Read pages A-13 through A-17. Answer all questions on page A-18 (#1-4).
