Sayings From The Cross “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit” These words are a quotation of Psalm 31:5. Jesus is expressing His willingness to submit to His Father’s will while expressing His confidence that God will deliver Him from the enemy of death - RESURRECTION! Jesus entrusts Himself to God in the face of imminent death, the ultimate enemy and the weapon of the greatest enemy of mankind, Satan. A psalm of lament from David as he prayed for deliverance from his enemies, expressing confidence that his fate was in God’s hands, ending with praise for a deliverance he was confident would happen.
