4. why did walt want to steal your dogs?
So he could get Loren Hall, and take him to Dawson, and So he can get his claim.

5. Why did you shoot at Walt Masters?
Walt was spying on me, and was trying to steal my dogs and did so i tried to shoot him so i can my dogs back.

6. Why did you go after walt?
I went after Walt Masters, because he was spying on us.He was hidden in a cabin

7. We saw him come out with gold nugget the people was working all night.
Why did you want to steal from loren hall’s claim instead of digging your own
We saw him come out with gold nugget the people was working all night.

8. why did you start coming around when loren hall fell in the ice?
I wanted to dig in his claim, to get gold. So he wouldn’t know that we were digging in his hole.

11. Paul Walker: How did you feel when you were being shot at?
Lead Dog:I felt scared because the dog that was leading us just got shot so we had to stop so we all could get shot at and more of us could be killed and we didn’t want that to happen so we got in line as fast as we can so we could take off again. We got so far ahead that we picked up Loren Hall, and we filed his claim.

12. Paul Walker:How did you feel when one of the other dog’s got shot?
Lead Dog:I felt scared, because I did not know if I was going to get shot too. Well to be honest I thought I was going to get shot like the other dog did so thats why i was scared.

13. Paul Walker : How did you feel when Walt’s was whipping at you instead of the other dog’s?
The Lead Dog: I thought it wasn’t right, but I understand because he was scared like of us because we were being shot at. Walt wanted us to go faster and I tried to go as fast as I could. And at the end he turned out to be a nice guy.

14. Paul Walker: Do you think Walt did the right thing by stealing the sled?
Lead Dog: Yes, I had seen the Stampeders steal other peoples’ claims. When I heard the story of Walt Masters.

15. Paul Walker:How did you feel when the wrong lead dog was leading?
Lead Dog:I felt their was a mistake at first then i realized that my owner was not guiding it was someone else so i felt better that my owner did not betray me but its ok.

18. So Loren what did you think when you heard that the Stampeders were going to take all of your gold before you got to Dawson. What did it feel like when Walt saved the day?
Well I thought, “how am I going to get to Dawson so quick” and I kept on thinking and thinking then all of the sudden Walt Masters comes and picks me up on the sled. I thought wow his momma would be so proud of him. Walt has such a nice heart!

19. Loren Hall how did you feel when you couldn’t travel for 2 weeks because of you accident?
I felt very upset when I couldn’t travel for 2 weeks until I healed up. If I didn’t start walking again the Stampeders were going to get there first. I was very mad at myself, especially for all this weight that I have grown. You can’t walk on a frozen river when you’re almost 250 pounds! I’m just glad I could recover and made it to Dawson.

20. When you were digging your hole and found the gold what did it feel like?
I thought my eyes were lying to me. I had never gotten gold before. I was filled with happiness and joy. When I started walking to Dawson I was trying to go faster because I was so happy but I couldn’t because of my age.

21. When you knew that if you didn’t hurry the Stampeders were going to take the hole that you dug how did you feel?
I was very angry who would want to make people even more miserable. After I recovered I knew they were going to get there before I will, but I didn’t give up and when Walt Masters came in from the distance I filled with joy.

23. Reporter : “So Walts Dad , how is it when you had to raise walt by yourself”
Walt’s dad : “It was hard, but we got through it together”

24. Reporter: “Why did you go on the short trip up the White River prospecting for quartz.
Walt’s Dad: I wanted to record my claim at the start, so Walt had nothing to fear now that I had gone on a short trip up the White River prospecting for quartz.

25. Reporter : “So how was it when you were the lead dog”
Lead Dog : “ It was hard because I had to pull a lot of weight on my back , then i got shot”

26. Reporter: “Did you ever get to see your son at the end?
Walt’s Dad: “I did not see him until after I returned from mining. I am so proud of how Walt helped Loren file his claim in Dawson. All the men in the Yukon call him the King of Mazy May.”

28. How did you feel when your mother died
How did you feel when your mother died? It was hard for my dad to be like my mom and dad times were hard but I think I was like my dad.

29. What were you doing before you got shot
What were you doing before you got shot? Well, I was on my way to Dawson to look for gold. First, I stole the dog sled to pick up Loren Hall. When I was almost to Dawson, all of the sudden, I got shot.

30. When and where were you born?
I was born on March 28, 1907, a thousand miles or so down the Yukon, in a trading post below the Ramparts.

31. Why did you risk your life for Loren Hall?
Well, some people say I have a good heart like my dad, you know, I was raised up here without a mom,and I just grow up fast.Im really not afraid of much because I have seen it all.

32. After you discovered the proper lead dog, what were you thinking about?
I was thinking about that I could easily run away from them if I could only change the bad leader for the good one.
