Refer back to this reading when researching… Types of 2ndary sources: opinions(debatable claims), factual (information to interpret), concepts (general terms or theoretical frameworks) How to use: give the source credit for having this idea or stating this opinion before you did (see Using Sources Responsibly); encourage readers to see you as a knowledgeable and trustworthy writer, one who has taken the time to explore, digest, and fairly represent others’ opinions; demonstrate that your opinion isn’t merely idiosyncratic because another informed, even "expert," reader agrees with you. Your outline does not have to include direct quotes, but should have some examples you will use to support your arguments… On 11/8, I will take a look at your outline, and give you some feedback on your thesis, etc.
