I will focus my introduction on tracing the history of the aerological station in three slides
radiosoundings and three people

2015 between 55 and 60 people: scientists, engineers, technicians, administrative people out of about 350 people
I also have to say that MCH is not only Payerne but we have the headquarters at Zurich Kloten, and regional centres in Locarno, Geneve (WMO building), and Payerne

3. Payerne is mainly oriented towards meteorological instrumentation.
In situ measurements:
Radiosounding 2/day
Surface stations > 200 in CH
BSRN
Ground-based remote sensing
Passive systems : microwave radiometers
Active systems : lidar, wind profiler
