WHY IS NATIONAL CAREER DEVELOPMENT MONTH CELEBRATED?
Message From Counselor P. Adams
               
The American School Counseling Association, ( ASCA ) in its National Model  for school counseling highlights the following  domains :  Academic Development, Career Development, Personal / Social Development.  It is the school counselor’s responsibility to effectively work with students to provide guidance in each of these domains. During the month of November , the school counselor highlights career development.  Our students here at Bertha C. Boschulte Middle School are exposed to career decision-making opportunities through a variety of educational and training options.
            
    We engage our students in exploring their interests, skills, academic preparations as they link their educational experiences in the classroom to career decisions. Students interact with career guest speakers, complete career interest inventories, select careers in classroom assignments and attend field trips.  The counseling department wishes our students a very successful Career Month 2015. 
NCDA promotes career development through its annual celebration of National Career Development Month. Every November, career development professionals are encouraged to celebrate with career related activities
