2. We strongly encourage parents to talk to their child about good decision-making and personal responsibility while on tour, as well as the importance of following all safety advice and instructions they receive.

Nothing can replace old-fashioned common sense when it comes to being safe while traveling.
We advise travelers:
to leave the expensive clothes and jewelry at home
to always travel in a group
to choose well-lit streets
to be aware of their surroundings and other people at all times.

5. Pay Attention! Be aware of your surroundings! Listen and watch!
No head phones!
On public transportation you need to pay attention to Leaders, Guides and the surrounding area. We aren’t going 5000 miles to listen to your music from home.
In Museums and attractions you need to learn and experience
On long bus/plane/train rides if you need music, please use only one earbud.

6. For group travel to go smoothly, each member of the group must be punctual and demonstrate respect to the Tour Director and all travelers in the group.

7. Keep all possessions in a safe place
Travelers are responsible for their possessions.
Valuables should never be left behind in the hotel or on a bus seat
(unless locked in a safe in the hotel or stored by the driver in the locked luggage compartment under the bus).
Personal belongings should always be kept within sight.
Also, popular tourist areas attract pickpockets. We recommend that travelers keep money in travel pouches that can be worn under clothes.

8. Know all the important contact numbers
Your child should travel with the contact information for each hotel on the itinerary.
I will be printing out the contact numbers for each of the hotels that we are staying in so the students have a card to carry with them.
They will receive a card at each new hotel
This information is located on the final itinerary, which travelers can access approximately three weeks before tour on their personal website.

9. Emergency Calling Instructions
Students should also bring the Emergency Calling Instructions card, which provides instructions on how to dial emergency numbers in the countries they’re visiting.

11. Travelers and parents also have access to EF’s 24-hour emergency phone numbers, which are listed on the Emergency Calling Instructions card.

12. Upon arrival, the Tour Director
Upon arrival, the Tour Director* will give all travelers a wristband with the emergency number printed on it and students should wear it for the duration of the tour. 
*I will hand them out on the first day in London!

While your group’s Tour Director and Group Leader (ME!), and Adult Chaperones will work together to provide an enjoyable and safe tour experience, everyone in the group must cooperate and demonstrate good common sense while traveling.
