1 JONAH 1 Sin is running away from God
Grace is God’s effort to pursue and to intercept behaviour that is self destructive. There is no refuge FROM God, only refuge IN God. There is always a boat going to Tarshsih Sometimes storms are sent to save us, not to harm us

3 Invictus It matters not how strait the gate
How charged with punishments the scroll I am the master of my fate I am the Captain of my soul

4 38 “You don’t know what you are asking,” Jesus said
38 “You don’t know what you are asking,” Jesus said. “Can you drink the cup I drink or be baptized with the baptism I am baptized with?” Mark 10 v 38 1 Save me, O God,     for the waters have come up to my neck. 2 I sink in the miry depths,     where there is no foothold. I have come into the deep waters;     the floods engulf me. 14 Rescue me from the mire,     do not let me sink; deliver me from those who hate me,     from the deep waters. 15 Do not let the floodwaters engulf me     or the depths swallow me up     or the pit close its mouth over me.

6 2 Then Jonah prayed to the Lord his God from the belly of the fish, 2 saying,
“I called out to the Lord, out of my distress,     and he answered me; out of the belly of Sheol I cried,     and you heard my voice. 3 For you cast me into the deep,     into the heart of the seas,     and the flood surrounded me; all your waves and your billows     passed over me. 4 Then I said, ‘I am driven away     from your sight; yet I shall again look     upon your holy temple.’ 5 The waters closed in over me to take my life;     the deep surrounded me; weeds were wrapped about my head 6     at the roots of the mountains. I went down to the land     whose bars closed upon me forever; yet you brought up my life from the pit,     O Lord my God. 7 When my life was fainting away,     I remembered the Lord, and my prayer came to you,     into your holy temple.

7 V 9 But I with the voice of thanksgiving     will sacrifice to you; what I have vowed I will pay.     Salvation belongs to the Lord!” 3 Then the word of the Lord came to Jonah the second time, saying, 2 “Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and call out against it the message that I tell you.” 3 So Jonah arose and went to Nineveh, according to the word of the Lord.
