Did you know that the Internet has been around since the 1950’s? Why then have we only had access to it for about a decade? Learn the answers to these questions and many more while you do a little research using that exact tool—the Internet! How ironic: learning about the internet, using the internet.
To help you succeed in this class and have you gain knowledgeable information, I’m sending you and a partner on a journey down the Information Superhighway to discover how the Internet came to be what it is today. As you follow the tasks outlined on the next slide, you will be well on your way to being a knowledgeable, tech-savvy student!

Make a timeline, using poster board, to outline the details of historical events that have occurred from the creation of the Internet until what it is today and include colored pictures and details.
Design and present a PowerPoint presentation to explain the timeline.

Use poster board to design your timeline.
Print color pictures of major events (or pictures representing them) and type information about the event. Cut them out and glue them to the poster board.
You must include information on the following:

**These are not necessarily in the correct order. The government uses many acronyms (initial letters of other words). Find their meanings**

You should have an introductory slide, slides that outline each important year of the history, and an end slide. (Each slide should have a different “important” date on it.) You will be presenting this to the class when you’re finished.
Use the pictures from the timeline on the slides.
Make sure you add everything that you’ve learned so far including slide transitions, custom animation, hyperlinks, etc.
