Science and Research The Jagiellonian University has excellent world-class research centres: Małopolska Centre of Biotechnology SOLARIS Synchrotron The Jagiellonian Centre for Experimental Therapeutics OMICRON CITTRU Copernicus Center for Interdisciplinary Studies Life Science Park Projects, patents, and inventions In 2016 the Jagiellonian University carried out 1,027 research projects, including 47 international projects, of which almost one third are led by young researchers. In 2016 the Jagiellonian University researchers acquired a funding for 270 new projects, including 11 international projects worth EUR 1, 147, and USD 38,400 and subsidies on domestic projects worth PLN 120,857, In the years , the Jagiellonian University obtained patent protection for 85 inventions (36 in Poland and 49 abroad).
