4. Plants
There are not many things growing in the alpine tundra. This is because 75% of the land is covered with permafrost. Also it is so cold it is ard for plants to grow.
One of the plants that does survive in the alpine tundra is calliergon giganteum, which lives on the bottom of lakes.
