What is Psychology? Psychology is the scientific study of mental processes and behavior!!! Behavior = ANY activity…thinking, learning, believing, wishing, imagining…etc…by humans & animals.

There are two types of Psychologists:
Research Psychologists: Study the origin, cause or results of certain behaviors Applied Psychologists: Make direct use of the findings of research Psychologists; They deal directly with clients.

“What is the difference between a Psychiatrist & a Psychologist?”
A Psychiatrist is a medical doctor who may prescribe medications (M.D.) A Psychologist is someone who has earned their Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree or Doctoral Degree (Ph.D.) & may not prescribe medications.

“Where do Psychologists work?”
More than 50% are working as clinicians or counselors 42%: University; College or other educational settings 32%: Business; Industry & self-employed settings 16%: Non-profit organizations 10%: Government
