Midway Middle Cheer

Requirements to Tryout
Must have successfully completed pep squad. Must have attended all games. If absent, a doctors note must have been provided to Ms. Packard. No failing grades for any 6 weeks grading period. No failing grades for any class on any report card. No more than 3 demerits.

How long is the cheer season?
Cheer is a year round sport. We cheer for all football games Tuesday nights, late August-mid November We cheer for all home basketball games, girls and boys. Thursday nights, mid November-mid February Must be enrolled in cheer athletics period. No morning or afternoon practices, unless scheduled by coach Cheer takes precedent over any outside extracurricular. We will work with other school activities/sports.

Finances Current approximate cost: $850
All accounts must be paid in full before school lets out for summer (end of May). First payment is due in early April, second payment at the end of May. The cost includes uniform, all practice attire, shoes, bows, bag and summer camp. Fundraising is available and will be discussed at the parents meeting 3/22.

MMS Cheerleader Expectations
You are expected to be the leading example of what a MMS student should be, at all times! In and out of school! You will be held to a higher standard than other students and athletes. Cheer-LEADER.

Feb. 27th –March 1st 3:45pm-5pm Learn the material March 2nd: Mock tryouts 3:45pm-4:15pm Run through tryout procedures Tryouts: March 3rd 4pm-until finished

Cheer Chant Dance Jumps Running Tumbling Standing Tumbling

Who will be judging the tryouts?
3 hired, unbiased judges with no affiliation or connection to Midway ISD.
