Ober test. With the athlete on her side with affected side uppermost, grasp at the ankle. Flex and circumduct the hip bringing it into full abduction and extension. In the absence of iliotibial band (ITB) tightness the knee falls past neutral into adduction. If the ITB is tight, the knee fails to fall past the neutral as seen here.
