Activity 1 Before you think about word meaning, think about word form!
Look at the words and find a word that ends with: -tion -ate -ive -al -ment -ize -able -ly What part of speech (word form) are these words? How do you know?

Activity 2 New vocabulary is easier to learn in a sentence. Making useful sentences helps you to understand and remember the word! Divide into small groups. Together, create at least five sentences, one for each word. Pay attention to word form and meaning. Use each word correctly. Share your sentences with the class!

Activity 3 Team up with a friend and quiz each other on the vocabulary words. One person stay on slide 3 while the other moves through, reading the definition. Then switch! Don’t wait until the day before the quiz to review… PRACTICE! PRACTICE! PRACTICE! Everyday!
