3 Municipal WAND Scope Consortium
Developing intelligent embedded urban ICT infra for public lighting & traffic management – minimising urban energy usage Improving comfort & security for citizens Integration of embedded wired/wireless monitoring & control technology with municipal management systems for real-time monitoring & control of public lighting & urban transport Sensor-based dimming of street lights & traffic lights ~30% savings in energy consumption Consortium Cork Institute of Technology (IRL), Cork City Council (IRL), 52M (BE), Benetel (IRL) Expressions of Interest : Philips (NL), NXP, TUEindhoven (NL), Adevice (ES), Fraunhofer SIT (GE), Metoda Engineering (IT), Intecs (IT), CTAG (ES), ATOS Origin (ES), HI Iberia (ES), Deusto Tech (ES), Cartif (ES), RIGA Technical University (LV), CISS (DK), Sirris (BE)

4 E2D - Cloud Scope Consortium
(Internal) Building Management System + External Building Management system -> Energy Efficient District Including ‘internet of things’ – wireless sensor networks From E2B to E2D towards NET Zero Cities Evolution from eDIANA (ARTEMIS Call 1) Consortium ATOS Origin (ES), Acciona (ES), Tekniker (ES), UPC (ES), Esvall (ES) Expression of Interest : CIT (IRL), NXP, Fraunhofer SIT (GE), EMIC (GE), Schneider Electric (GE), Endesa (ES), Indra (ES), University Tampere (FIN), Metoda Engineering (IT), Adevice (ES), STM (IT), Cartif (ES), CISS (DK), Sirris (BE), UPM (ES), Deusto Tech (ES), CTAG (ES),

5 Global ICT Platform for Energy Efficiency
Scope Scope : residential building & tertiary & public buildings Energy provider stakeholders Energy Management System for consumption optimization, followed by Energy Savings Verification & Demand Response Programs Goal is to design & develop the platform + design & develop necessary business intelligence in it Consortium Cartif (ES) Expression of Interest : Sirris (BE), STM (IT), Tampere University (FIN), HI-Iberia (ES) Needed : ICT roles (MW & HW developers) Business intelligence, authentication security, e-services, e-commerce, residential gateways (energy box), embedded systems

6 ESCORT Scope Consortium
Embedded Systems for reliable & optimized solar energy production Demonstrate how large scale coordinational algorithms supporting sensors and motor controllers can control a prototype solar field existing of 100s of large modules or heliostats characterized by small size low cost and unreliable performance. Consortium STM (IT), University Bologna (IT), Riello (IT), ENEL (IT) Expressions of Interest : TUEindhoven (NL), Cartif (ES), CIT (IRL) Partners needed : SW for local weather forecast and its integration in solar field control Modelling of energy production for optimal combined usage of fossil energy sources Algorithms for reliability & maintenance of distributed power generation resources Flexible interface to smart-grid of solar power plant

7 NEXT STEPS Projects 1 and 2 will be launched
Projects 3 and 4 are currently investigating whether to merge with 1 or 2, or whether to continue independently Please contact persons on slide 1 in case you have an interest to join one or more of the consortia
