9 How You Can Help Care deeply about participating in the political process and educate yourself and others (family, friends, employees) about issues important to our industry. Actively participate in elections by voting, making sure other like-minded people are registered to vote, and support those candidates who you believe in. Coordinate your activities with NWSA leadership and staff so that all your efforts and messages are clear and coordinated. February 2012 C. Marshall

10 Federal Campaign Donation Limits (2012 Election Cycle)
Donations to a candidate give you ownership in the campaign and the election – skin in the game if you will – small and/or large donations are all helpful. At the national level an individual (you, your spouse, etc) can give as little as $1 up to $2,500 per candidate in both the primary and the general elections. An individual may give up to $5,000 per calendar year to a political action committee (PAC) that supports a federal candidate. An individual may give $10,000 per calendar year to a state or local party committee. An individual may give $30,800 per calendar year to a national party committee. February 2012 C. Marshal

11 Federal Campaign Donation Limits
(2012 Election Cycle) No Corporate Checks – Partnerships and limited liability companies can make donations under the limits above so long as they have not opted to be treated like corporations by the IRS and attribute a percentage of the donation amounts to each partner/shareholder. Only $100 in cash can be accepted by a candidate or PAC per election. Contributions exceeding $100 must be made by check or money order. February 2012 C. Marshall
