2 What/when is the Tunnel of oppression?
The Tunnel of Oppression is a tour that engages students, faculty, staff, and community members in an immersive experience of scenes. Participants will experience firsthand various forms of oppression through acting, visual displays, monologues and multimedia. Past topics have included sex trafficking, genocide, dating violence, and bullying. March 28th 5:00pm-9:00pm March 29th 5:00pm-9:00pm March 30th 11:00am-3:00pm

4 Partnering Proposal process Time commitment
Meetings will occur every other week and will be determined after Doodle completion Room establishment Room activities/presentations/etc. should be no longer than 8 minutes Groups will be required to create a “script” for their room in which the tour guide will follow. Room set-up and take down: Groups are responsible for setting up and taking down the room each night. This process can take anywhere from a half hour to an hour depending on room materials.

5 VOLUNTEERS Volunteers will be needed for set-up, take-down, check-in, tour guides, and the evaluation station. Volunteers will be required to attend training sessions to acquire education and awareness of oppression, how to recognize when an individual is triggered or bothered by the tunnel, and the Tunnel of Oppression process.

6 Process: Check-in and tour
Individuals will check-in/sign-up Tour groups will consist 8-10 people Tour guides will greet and lead the group throughout the tunnel entering each room by following a script.

8 Debriefing Once groups have finished walking through the Tunnel, counselors from the University Counseling Center will be available and will facilitate group discussions of individuals’ reactions to the project. 2 to 3 counselors will be accessible Brief evaluation Treats and drinks
