Hi there, this is Terry. Before we get started…
Ok Mrs. Smith, how can I help you today? Is it X? Ah, ok, let’s try something else then… Is it Y? How about Z? 0:00 2:00 5:00 7:00 9:00 Proprietary and Confidential

TR-069 is the technical report produced by the Broadband Forum that defines the CPE WAN Management Protocol. It was developed to assist service providers deploying subscriber CPE (routers, set-top-boxes, VoIP devices, etc.) to remotely configure, manage, monitor, and troubleshoot those devices using an Auto-Configuration Server (ACS). It is secure when implemented correctly and has been used for more than a decade by service providers around the world. TR-069 (CWMP) is the most frequently used protocol for device management for carriers and ISPs – utilized for everything from zero-touch self-installation and remote configuration of devices, to group update for firmware, and remote diagnostics. As this protocol has become the de-facto standard for device management all further representation displayed here today managing the CPE utilizes TR-069. Providing the ACS and the CPE maintain this standard for operation we can consider this to be vendor agnostic.

Remotely configure your SSID names and passwords as well as configuring security/encryption.
Turn on/off radios and choose what modes of you wish to transmit. Configure the available frequency band to use as well as channel selection. Increase or decrease power levels of the radios to ensure optimal performance Any additional radio options like airtime fairness, Dynamic Frequency Selection or MU-MIMO
8
Troubleshoot the most common problems in the customer home dealing with Wireless via signal strength and connected device strength.
9
Perform needed backups and restores of CPE devices.
Gather Communication logs and event history to help dissect occurrences in the home network
10
Schedule and automate workflows to perform basically any type of configuration change and software upgrades

I just did a Google Search: “how many mobile apps are there”
The results are as follows: This statistic contains data on the number of apps available for download in leading app stores as of March As of that month, Android users were able to choose between 2.8 million apps. Apple's App Store remained the second-largest app store with 2.2 million available apps.
12
It is self evident that apps are infectious
It is self evident that apps are infectious. Why not provide the means to empower the end customer with some control over their gateway. Examples include: Assigning timeslots to users for Internet use, Setting and or retrieving current SSID passphrases, Assigning guest networks and reviewing current traffic on the home network.

What is Flow?
17
Flow in the routing world in its most simplistic form is a router’s ability to collect IP network traffic. Common flows include Cisco’s Netflow, HP’s Sflow and Juniper’s Jflow. A flow exporter aggregates packets into flows and exports flow records towards one or more flow collectors. Flow collectors are responsible for reception, storage and pre-processing of flow data received from an exporter. An analysis application analyzes the received flow data and basically makes some sense out of it all. The simple point being that a flow is a packet of information from the router with a source and destination IP address. With the right tools this information can be translated and graphed into something that makes sense for us. Layer 3 IP traffic!
18
Having the flow data analyzed with the right tools can allow the service provider to see traffic in their overall network in real time. This can easily help identify any choke points as well as what applications are using the highest amount of bandwidth
19
Becoming more granular you can easily review traffic down to it’s smallest denominator being an endpoint. This is a mapped location in the network where traffic between the router and itself is collected. Basically this is a customer.
20
By utilizing a database to store historical data it is easy to perform a plethora of varying reports. In this example we have looked at a subscriber’s monthly bandwidth usage over a 3 month period.
21
Great stuff, but where does this evolve too?
