8. LUNCH PROGRAM
Attention students who have Pizza lunches on Thursdays. Pizza lunches for TODAY will NOT be served due to a power outage in that area. Pizza lunches will be delivered to the school on TOMORROW, FRIDAY the 30th . Please pick up your pizza on FRIDAY the 30th for this week only. Sorry for the inconvenience.

10. Gr. 9 & 10 Girl’s Basketball

We had an AWESOME Terry Fox Run! To date we have raised as a school almost $3,000. You can still donate! Go to Terry Fox.org and search Handsworth School Run. Thank you all so much, it was AWESOME!!

13. ATTENTION ALL JAPAN EXCHANGE ALUMNI
Students in Gr. 10, 11 & 12 who participated in the Japan exchange when you were in Grade 9. There is a meeting on FRIDAY at LUNCH in Room 211. If you already went on the Japan exchange in a past year, we want to see you there!! We have a special Japanese experience to share with you. 16. Orange Shirt Day
Orange Shirt Day is held in schools across Canada this coming Friday, Sept. 30th. The day grew out of Phyllis Webstad’s story of having her shiny new orange shirt taken away on her the first day of school at the St. Joseph’s Mission in Williams Lake. The date was chosen because it is the time of year when children were taken away from their homes and brought to residential schools, most often against their will. Orange Shirt Day is an opportunity for schools and communities to come together in the spirit of reconciliation. Show your support by wearing an orange shirt on Friday.

Are you interested in Volunteering 1 hour per week as a peer tutor. Are you in Grade 11 or 12? Please attend a meeting at lunch on Tuesday, October 4th in Room 102.

26. Strachan Hartley Legacy Run
The Strachan Hartley Legacy Run is looking for Volunteers to do Course Marshaling and 1st Responders. The race takes place on Sat. Oct. 16th. Anyone interested in volunteering, please sign up in the main office.

If you enjoy running you should be on the cross-country team! Practices are Mon thru Thurs. Show up one day or all. First meet is Sept.28th. Check out the display case outside the drama room to sign up for more info.
