Georgia was a complete failure Oglethorpe began war with spanish (almost never ending) Oglethorpe sent back to Great Britain for failing to finish the war he started War cause chaos and lack of structure in government and economy Georgia was established on January 2, 1788

Oglethorpe & 21 other men created a charter to settle a new colony (Georgia) in honor of King George II. A grant established land between the Savannah & Altamaha rivers James Edward Oglethorpe was the founder who established Georgia

4 What did Georgia produce to make money? Who made up the colony?
Rice, clay, pottery, cotton, indigo, tobacco, fruit, barrel staves, & pork were produce. Mostly immigrants and slaves made up the colony. Males outnumbered the females and there were ege less kids.

What is the geography and climate of Georgia? What were the overall religious practices of the people? Georgia has very hot and humid summers and mild winters. Georgia was one of the hilly plains on the coast. Georgia was a place of both religious tolerance and religious pluralism Georgia's Royal Charter provided for liberty conscience for all & the free exercise of religion by all except Roman Catholics

What kind of food did Georgia have? What kind of education was available? Kids in colonial America were taught a trade usually the one their fathers did to continue the family business Often kids would go to school & learn a trade Some examples of foods included cornbread, greens and sometimes ocean foods

11 What did the colonists do for fun? Interesting facts?
When they were bored the colonists had contests, danced to music, played the fiddle, and played games. Known as the “Peanut State” for its pecans & peanuts Georgia was founded in 1732
