TITLE I Title I is short for “Title I, Part A of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965, Reauthorized by the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act of 2001.” Title I is the largest federal aid program for elementary, middle and high schools. Title I is based on three important ideas
All students should work toward the same high goals. Local districts, schools, and parents work together to determine what their students need to succeed. Parents are partners in helping all students achieve. National Standards for Parent Family Involvement Programs, National PTA, 2004

Duties of a Title I School
Develop school wide programs; find ways to strengthen core academic programs and reform educational strategies Set goals for improvement-Campus Improvement Plan (CIP) Provide quality programs to add to classroom instruction Involve parents in all aspects of the program Parent Policy Parent Advisory Committee Parent Involvement Meetings Title Annual Meetings National Standards for Parent Family Involvement Programs, National PTA, 2004

As a Parent, How can I help?
Ask for progress reports and report cards Make regular attendance a top goal for your child. Keep in touch with your child’s teacher and attend parent-teacher conferences. Make sure to attend the meeting for the Parent/Teacher/Student Compact Keep teachers informed about events and issues that may affect your child’s work or behavior. Continue creating routines for your child to encourage time for homework. Continue your constant conversations with your child about school.
