5 ¿Why the need for a regional protected areas system?
Great opportunity to conserve and protect protected areas in the long term (more than 80 PA). Confronting threats to protected areas using an effective mechanism (Deforestation, mining) Supporting the region 7 (political regions in Ecuador. PA are important in land use planning. Securing permanent financing from the local government thus ensuring Protected Areas are considered during land use planning and zoning.
