6 Old Law and New Law Ratification of the covenant: two points of clarification Why blood? Blood was 1) a means of enactment; 2) necessary for forgiveness of sins; 3) a solemn warning; and, 4) a means of unity How did Moses and the others see God? They saw a vision of God, not the very person of God himself (Jn. 1:18; 1 Tim. 6:16)
