A magazine idea from Amber Martin

The Title The title of my magazine will be called GG WP. This is An abbreviation used by gamers in a lot of online multiplayer games known as Good Game, Well played. The title is meant to be a little nod to gamers around that specific community as well as a saying I will use for a positive review.

What is GG WP? GG WP (Good Game Well Played) is a gaming magazine geared around looking at the games awarded for game of the year by various awarding committees. As well as looking at various topics in the gaming community. The magazine will be released monthly and it will be around £2.50. Of course this is just the QUICKEST WAY TO EXPLAIN THIS MAGAZINE.

What is going to be in the magazine?
I should introduce you to some of the content featured in GG, WP. there will be various reviews on classic games such as: In the magazine there will also be a hit piece on IGN, how free to play games skyrocketed in playability and how Bethesda keeps releasing games that died in Overall a good time in one magazine. And for the video I will get an interview with an avid gamer for CSGO.

Target Audience Now I believe it is rather clear where my target audience will lie. Gamers, but not just any old gamers. Male gamers aged 16 – 35 with an affinity for action adventure games and FPS games. Using this metro gaming article I managed to narrow down the most sold genre in I found out that out of 50, 15 of the most sold games in the uk in 2016 was Action adventure.

Advertising I will advertise this magazine via youtube. I have looked at the ways you can get things advertised on the site and I figured out the cost to have my online magazine advertised, In USD the cost would be $2000 (£1500) however this all depends on a videos view count. Youtube themselves has an easy way to get an advert on videos of your choice.

Price For this magazine I will be pricing it at £2.50.
My reasons for this is because a lot of gamers already spend a lot of money on their games and set ups plus they won’t want to pay a lot for a monthly magazine. The xbox AND Playstation magazines cost £5.62 so halving mine will be a benefit.

Unique Selling Point The unique selling point to GG,WP is the fact I am no a huge company with various agendas to push or products to sell. I am here offering a relatively cheap magazine offering my insight to this community. I am someone who understands the gaming audience and what they like and what they do not like. Selling points have to be geared towards the audience. Mine is the promise of transparency and no nonsense or bs. Plus it is cheaper than compared to other magazines.

What will it look like?

The Main stories The main stories that will be featured in this magazine include: A small nod to how free to play games are storming the market so far in terms of popularity. An interview piece with an avid csgo player. A set of three reviews on games that have been awarded game of the year that will include Half Life 2, Dishonored and undertale. Two feature articles about IGN and Bethesda. this will be elaborated on in the next slide.

Feature Articles I decided to make a page dedicated to the two feature articles for my magazine due to the size of this. The feature articles will include: how gaming review site, IGN fell out of every gamer’s good graces in a manner of years. For this I will be looking AT EVERY ASPEC OF THIS SITUATION, THE COMMUNITIE’S opinions on this, my personal issues with the site even though I have cited it. As well as the practices that made ign the biggest joke in gaming since Half Life 3. How Bethesda keeps re-releasing the elder scrolls v and why the charm of Skyrim is finally wearing off on the audience, this article will include a mini review on Skyrim to explain why it has the potential to be constantly re-released.

Success Why will my magazine be successful? For me I attribute this to my unique selling point. I am not a huge company trying to sell you a game. I am a person with experience in this community, someone who adores games of many genres and values people getting an immersive experience with their games. My success will be due to my transparency with my target audience. I won’t be treating them like idiots I will speaking to them in a format they understand.
