Knowing God’s Word Paul is the author of the book of Titus (1:1)
This epistle, just as I & II Timothy, is not written to a congregation of people, but rather to Titus himself Paul refers to Titus as his “true son in common faith” (1:4)

Knowing God’s Word Titus is not mentioned by name in Acts, but we read of him in Paul’s epistles He was a Greek (Gal. 2:3) who was with Paul in Jerusalem during the conflict over circumcision (Acts 15:1-2; Gal. 2:1-5) During Paul’s 3rd missionary journey, Titus had been sent to report on the church at Corinth (II Cor. 2:12-13)

Knowing God’s Word At the time of the writing, Titus had been left on the island of Crete The reason was to “set in order the things that are lacking, and appoint elders in every city” (1:5) The last we see is that Titus had gone to Dalmatia (II Tim. 4:10)

Knowing God’s Word Paul was likely in Macedonia or Nicopolis (3:12) when he wrote this letter Titus was one of the last letters that Paul wrote, written around 66 AD Titus is considered one of the “Pastoral Epistles” as it was written to Titus, who was being instructed as he preached the gospel (I & II Timothy, Titus)
