2 The establishment of a pilot group of IFAD projects that have the
ENRAP Objective: The establishment of a pilot group of IFAD projects that have the ability and skills to assess, manage and share knowledge relevant to project objectives and implementation using electronic and traditional methods of communication. This objective needs to be considered in the context of a long-term goal to improve the performance/impact of IFAD projects in eliminating hunger and poverty. ENRAP attempts to bring the benefits of the Internet and international collaboration to IFAD-supported development projects. The Project Team is coordinated by International Development Research Centre (IDRC), with NEXUS Research, and the TeleCommons Development Group (TDG). 3 4) Develop recommendations and strategic plan for IFAD to ensure that
Specific Objectives: 1) Demonstrate usefulness and viability of knowledge sharing by IFAD projects using the Internet, based on pilots in one or two countries. 2) Develop the Central ENRAP Website to provide an electronic space for: knowledge networking, stakeholders communication, repository of information relevant to projects implementation (content, indigeneous knowledge, best practices, management information). 3) Build awareness and acceptance of ENRAP objectives among IFAD projects by providing training and technical support and demonstrating useful applications of the Internet technology. 4) Develop recommendations and strategic plan for IFAD to ensure that the achievement of the overall objective to enhance IFAD projects ability to address rural poverty will be supported by the Internet-based knowledge networking (continuation of ENRAP-type activities).
