Mechanisms of Action HIV enters the central nervous system and brain early in the infection. It can become more severe with duration. The pattern is changing, but we still have persons living with HIV who have severe dementia

What is dementia? A cluster of symptoms
Includes memory loss, disorientation to place and time, inability to self organize tasks of daily life, confusion Some are treatable (drug interactions) and some irreversible (as from HIV and Alzheimer’s)
