3. What is NIEM? National Information Exchange Model
A community-driven, standards based approach to exchanging information
Connects communities of people who share a common need to exchange information in order to advance their mission.
Not a database, system, software, technology stack, or a silver bullet

5. NIEM Communities of Interest (COIs)
A COI is a group of people who share a common concern, set of problems, or interest in a topic.

6. NIEM Human Services Domain (HS)
The NIEM HS domain supports information sharing and promotes interoperability between and across social service providers at the federal, state, local, and tribal levels.
Standardized data and information exchanges help fulfill the following goals:
Improve service delivery for clients
Reduce errors and improve program integrity
Improve administrative efficiency
