METHODS OF HERBICIDE APPLICATION:
Aerial Applied by helicopters Excellent for large areas Ground Most precise Good for small/sensitive areas Backpack Foliar Sprays Adaptable for small landowners

CUT SURFACE TREATMENTS:
Widely used method for killing unwanted trees during site preparation Used in combination with other methods

TYPES OF CUT SURFACE TREATMENTS:
Tree Injection Basal Bark Treatment Frill or Girdle Treatment Hack and Squirt Cut Stump Treatment

Key points to cut surface treatments:
Follow the labeled rates! Calibration is important! Cuts should be made in the form of a cup. Best applied to trees greater than 2” DBH. Adaptable to small landowners. Low equipment costs. Intensive labor requirements.
