Decision making is the act of choosing between two or more courses of action.

8 Facts on Decision Making
We all make decisions—good or bad. Few or many. An average person makes about 35, 000 decisions a day. An average person has about 10 defining moments in their lifetime. People choose to listen to data that confirms a decision that they have already made. Bad decisions are due to mental fatigue. Sometimes, any decision is better than no decision.

9 Processes of Decision Making
There are two common processes of decision making: Reasoning 2. Intuition

10 Reasoning When Who Why Where How
Reasoning is using the facts and figures in front of you to make decisions. Reasoning is rooted in the present…here-and-now, and in facts. Here are some facts:

11 Intuition Intuition is using your “gut feeling” about possible courses of action. Intuition is rooted in a combination of past experience and your personal values. What are some of your personal values? Relationship Generosity Boundaries

12 Factors that Influence Our Decisions
There are a number of factors that influence our decision making. These include: Not enough information Too much information Too many people Vested interests Emotional attachments No emotional attachments

13 Tools to Help You Make Effective Decisions
There are 4 tools that can help you make effective decisions and these are: Non-negotiables – things you are not willing to discuss or change before a decision is made. Negotiables – things you are willing to discuss and change before a decision is made. Choices – these are opportunities life presents us with. Preferences – these are personal likings or demands.

14 Application of Decision Making
There are 4 levels of relationship: Introduction – to make someone known to someone else by name. Acquaintance – to know someone personally. Friendship – a person who you like and enjoy being with. Intimacy – having a very close relationship. These 4 levels of relationship can help you make decisions. Filter each level through your non-negotiables, negotiables, choices and preferences.
