4. We have learned about Remus and Romulus, featured in the Novel is a character by the name us Remus Lupin, based on Remus from the Roman myth. Not only this but the last name Lupin is based on the Latin word for she wolf "lupa". This is no coincidence considering a trait of this character is to turn into a wolf.

Possibly the most well known Harry Potter spells "Expecto Patromun" is in all Latin meaning I am expecting a guardian.

7. Part of the reason JK chose Latin is because it's old, and mysterious, very few people can read it, though the words will ring a bell because there are so many roots of Latin in modern language
