Please note that the screen shots we’re about to show you of the electronic version of the Confirmation Statement are still subject to change. As with the annual return, when filing electronically you will gain access to your confirmation statement via your overview screen once you have signed in. It is advisable that you check the company’s records to ensure that all the information is correct before you get to this stage. If you do your statement electronically you will see your information on the on your home page. However, if you file your confirmation statement via a paper form it will be blank and will be about 30+ page document and you will have to check on Companies House Service to ensure all the company information is up to date before you complete the form and submit it to Companies House. According to the companies Act, all companies should notify the registrar of any changes within 14 days of them happening within the company. However, at the moment we do not penalise for the late filings of appointments etc… therefore at this stage you must ensure all the details and company record is correct.
27
Your confirmation statement date is flexible, so if you’d like to confirm changes earlier than your expected date you can do so and this is the page you would change the date on .
28
In most browsers, this is how the confirmation statement screen will show with the sections closed and then the ability to open them one at a time to check your current company information. The company will also be able to add details of their person(s) with significant control.
29
This is a screen shot from Internet Explorer which shows the sections all open
Here is the electronic version of the confirmation statement and it will run over 2 slides. You can see that if you need to update/amend / make changes to your registered office address/ officers and details you will be instructed to do it via the relevant forms as you cannot make these types of amendments on the confirmation statement.
34
However, on the confirmation statement you will be able to update/amend
The business codes Share capital and shareholders details Once your registered office address/ officers details are correct and the other amendments have been made you will then confirm that all the information is correct by submitting the confirmation statement to Companies House with the filing fee.
