RRPDC Mission statement
To strengthen the quality of life throughout the Richmond region by serving as a regional forum of member local governments to address issues of regional significance, providing technical assistance to localities, and promoting and enhancing the collective consensus on the economic, transportation, social, environmental, and demographic interests of the region.

22 elected officials 7 local planning commission members 4 citizens Allocated according to population Ashland (1 Councilmember) Charles City (1 Supervisor) Chesterfield (5 Supervisors, 1 pl. commissioner, 1 citizen) Goochland (1 Supervisor, 1 planning commissioner) Hanover (2 Supervisors, 1 planning commissioner, 1 citizen) Henrico (5 Supervisors, 1 planning commissioner, 1 citizen) New Kent (1 Supervisor, 1 planning commissioner) Powhatan (2 Supervisors, 1 planning commissioner) Richmond (4 Councilmembers, 1 pl. commissioner, 1 citizen) Governed by a board made up of 33 members. The voting members are divided up between the 9 jurisdictions based on population. 22 of the members are elected officials.
