4 Introduction Current contract effective as of November 23, 2015.
“Blue Language” is intended to provide clarification of the agreed-to language that exists in UAW-GM contract documents: Not intended to supersede the National Agreement If any conflict in interpretation exists between the Blue Language and the National Agreement, the National Agreement language rules UAW-GM Center for Human Resources (CHR) has published Blue Language documents since 1990. Previous Blue Language document was published following the contract agreement

Published in the National Agreement Document 7: Memorandum of Understanding Health and Safety Attachment “A” to the MOU Document 14: Roles and Responsibilities of Divisional Management Divisional Management and Representatives of the Union will support and operate within the policies and procedures established in the Joint Health and Safety Process Document 46: Joint Program Representatives Local Leadership will determine where their current full time representatives will be allocated to best serve the employees of the organization

Published in the National Agreement Document 105: H&S Representative Roles and Responsibilities The Local Committee is primarily to serve as technical resource and consulting team to local Management and Union Leadership in matters regarding employee Health and Safety Document 117: Compliance with Health and Safety Policies GM Real Estate and Facilities (RE&F), GM Manufacturing Assembly & Automation Center (MAAC) and other GM groups will follow the provisions of the current UAW GM National Agreement and all other UAW GM agreed to Health and Safety practices and procedures. Document 122: Metal Removal Fluids Significant efforts taken to reduce employee exposure to metal removing fluids (MRFs), to maintain the integrity of metal removal fluid removal systems and to reduce the potential health effects of MRFs

Published in the National Agreement Document 139: Near Miss Incidents Discusses the importance of reporting, investigating, evaluating and determining corrective actions for Near Miss incidents which occur in the workplace without fear of reprisal. Document 150: Pedestrian In-Plant Vehicle Team (PIV) Establishes an active local joint PIV team and provides guidance to assist in eliminating PIV incidents.

Published in the National Agreement Published Letter: Engineered Nano Materials New letter Establishes a Joint process to investigate Nano materials and develop processes to train and protect workers where hazards are identified.

9 2015 Contract Changes Page 38 – Paragraph #5 - The Practical Ergonomic Training (PET) will be revised. The parties agree that any person receiving PET may conduct a first level job analysis… Page 40 – Paragraph #7 - “The NJC will be responsible for determining the need to update training materials and necessary equipment on an ongoing basis” Page 41 – Paragraph #2 - “Alternate H&S will be offered training at the UAW-GM CHR if better served than on site training.” Page 48 – Paragraph #2 - added “during the “Proof of Concept phase/Prototyping” stage (e.g. the point when the initial drawings are completed and the initial physical device is assembled).

10 2015 Contract Changes Page 48 – Paragraph #4 added language – “outdated systems, equipment or devices in the UAW-GM CHR H&S areas will be replaced to reflect current technologies … to install such technologies.” Page 65 – Document 46 – Changed Quality Network to Global Manufacturing System (GMS) Changes to the exhibits to include new documents: Exhibit D: Document Compliance with Health and Safety Policies Exhibit H: Published Letter (NEW) - Engineered Nano Materials
