When I returned by sunset,
The hue of sunlight swayed
Like the beautiful Northern Lights,
And when I wandered through the corridor,
The twilight flowed through the windows,
Covering the soft surface of the silky sky.
Time was so dead I could not understand
The meaning of midday or midnight,
But like flowing streams - flowing silently and still,
Silence filled the air, it almost felt like an everlasting sound.
I calmly stood in front
Of my bedroom window,
And gazed at the sunset,
And watched the starlight.
I heard a dog barking on a door step,
And a tabby cat purring with joy.
Then a robin stood on my fence
And slowly twittered a tune.
And suddenly, beyond the housetops,
I imagined dew on the golden sand,
Swaying through the sapphire waves.
Moon calmly awaking,
The scent of early night.
Sky filled with enjoyment,
Sweet dreams.
When all the lamps were lightly lit,
I strolled through the dim and narrow streets,
Wakeful, using the time slowly,
And half the night I gazed upon the stars.
