1 VERBS

2 Two Main types of verbs Action- Action verbs do exactly what the name implies. They show action to the sentence. Linking- Linking verbs are more difficult. First, they do not show action. They link two parts in a sentence. They link the subject with either a noun or pronoun. Example: His mother is an accountant.

3 Helping verbs Just as the name implies, helping verbs, sometimes called auxiliary verbs, help out the main verb in a sentence. They accomplish this by giving more detail to how time is portrayed in a sentence. You must memorize the list of 23 helping verbs. is were has do shall may am be have does will might are being had did should must was been would can could
