Protocol for Advisory Discussion
We’re going to have a lot of discussions in our advisory class. It is important that this is a safe space for all classmates to share their opinions, ideas, and feelings. Take one minute to think about some norms that we should adhere to in our advisory classroom. We will record our final decisions, and they will become our classroom norms. Think about how you want the class to act: During class discussions During class challenges/activities (homecoming door challenge) When you have a substitute

Advisory Behavior Normal school and classroom rules apply during advisory. Add in any classroom rules that you have.
11
Classroom Rules Be respectful! Show respect to everyone and everything in our advisory. Leave a negative attitude at the door. In particular, please respect others’ opinions (which does not mean that you have to agree with them). Show respect during any broadcasts or school wide announcements by being silent when they are on. Be prepared to succeed! Come to Advisory prepared to talk to your advisory teacher about your academic progress. Understand that I will be checking your grades in all classes, and we will have serious conversations about your academic standing. I will work with you and your parents to make sure you are being successful at Vista. Be Ready to Participate! One of the best ways to come together as an Advisory is to participate in our class activities and school-wide competitions. They are a fun way to take a break from the routine of school and help us bond as a class. Don’t miss these opportunities! A few other class rules… No food or drink except water. Phones may not be out. Add in any classroom rules that you have.
