1 Class of Advisory 3/2/16

2 Announcement! You should have received your Presentation appointment slip today. ALL SENIORS are expected to present on March 24th. If you have missing components/papers, IT IS OKAY!!! You can STILL present, and catch up during Spring Break, though you WILL receive an F for Senior Project on your report card for Marking Period 3 if any rubrics are not marked as Passing. It is difficult to re-schedule if you do not present on 3/24. Make-up dates WILL NOT be to your advantage by any means. Please be prepared on March 24th.

3 March 2nd Advisory Turn in your Reflection paper (1 copy) to your Advisory Teacher. Late copies should be turned in to Mrs. Sharkey in paper form (no s). What is the Introduction? Portfolio Review Assembly

4 Introduction ½ page - titled as: Introduction
You may use, “I” in this component. Clearly and effectively explains the selected project, why the topic and product were selected, and a brief statement that summarizes what was learned through completing the project (both research and product). Keep this as a page SEPARATE from Research and Reflection.

5 The Introduction Rubric

6 What belongs inside the portfolio?
Table of contents Introduction to your project (1/2 page) Topic approval form Parent letter Background research final copy (rubrics optional) Resume Experience Log (for Service & Creative only) Reflection Paper Any additional paperwork pertaining to your project. For example, letters, photos, approval forms, etc.

7 If you are missing an item…
The Portfolio rubric takes each required section into consideration. If you turned in only 1 copy of a document, you will need to request a copy be made for your portfolio. If you can reprint from home, PLEASE DO SO. This will take time, please be patient. Mrs. Sharkey has request forms for you in her classroom.

8 Experience Log As you work on your project, update your experience log. Service and Creative projects must complete this. It documents steps you go through during the process, from selecting your topic to completing your project. Include photos, notes and signatures from interviews or service hours as appropriate.

9 You can make your own or download a copy from the senior project website to fill in.

10 Background Research Include AT LEAST one clean copy of your paper in the Portfolio. If you have rubrics or rough drafts, you may include those as well.

11 Summary Reflection papers are due TODAY.
All late work should be turned in ASAP. You should be organizing your Portfolio and finishing up the project between now and March 24th; Presentation day. If you need copies of items for your portfolio, you can fill out a request sheet found in room A219.

12 Exit Remember to use the SENIOR PROJECT section of as a resource! ALL PowerPoints shown in Advisory can be found on the SP NEWS section of the website. All Rubrics are found on the website as well. Go see HOW you will be graded if you have questions!
