3 ISSUE During Ordnance Assessment (OA) testing of the WB55 (F-18) October 2012 several units failed to function when initiated Led to decrease the installed time limit from 48 to 24 months Several JL56 (T-6) units failed to function during July 2014 OA testing Aircraft switched to SOLO mode to bypass JL56 Contractor replaced several lots worth of units Two XW54 (F-18, T-45) units failed to function during 2017 OA testing Effected lots removed from service Closely monitoring lots remaining in-service Doubling the WB55 requirement and replacement of JL56 units has strained the contractor’s capability, leading to delivery delays Limited Service Life Extensions (SLE) possible All SCID items tend to slow with total age and installed time With observed no-fires, little or no extension is possible on WB55/JL56/XW54

4 PATH FORWARD JL56 Vendor increased production. Replacement lots being delivered, currently out of Stock. New production deliveries due in Nov 2017 Delivering new design (New Part Number & NSN) JL57 A reduced shelf/service life is being considered for delay timing Current: 84/48 months shelf/service; proposed: 48/24 months shelf/service NOTE: T-6 BOTH/SOLO/CMD FWD use must be authorized by The Program Office WB55 Request expedited deliveries from Vendor Redesign in qualification with goal of achieving at least prior life limits Considering MC50 production run

5 PATH FORWARD CONTINUED
For all SCID items: Continue to monitor items through OA, testing more regularly than standard item Vendor has increased production with new hires Current inventory will be strictly monitored Manufacturing order and priority are being closely monitored based on requirements Estimated date to return to prior ages and stock levels: January 2020
