Philosophy PBL is based on the participatory world view > the human being needs other people to develop The individual is seen as autonomous, responsible and active Knowledge is created together in interaction and each individual gives knowledge an own meaning.

UNCERTAINTY AND PROBLEM – important words in PBL
Coping with uncertainty – the most important skill in the future? Presence is needed – how to make the right decisions? Fast decisions can be dangerous Problems are avoided and outsourced today- we avoid seeing our own shares in the problems You need to go through the problem – look for different perspectives, interests and motives affecting the problem Love the word problem! – there is a possibility for development In PBL a problem can also mean a problem area to be understood and analyzed

Individual and group- a fruitful growth together
The individual is learning with the body, mind and soul Learning needs to take place on all levels The energy level can be lifted with physical movements The mental(spiritual) energy can also be improved by concentration and mindfulness exercises

The search for an authentic person
An internal motivation to develop is forcing mankind and individuals to increase awareness of oneself and others The problems we are facing can’t be solved with existing knowledge and alone Ethical and collective aspects are increasingly important New mental/thinking models are needed Authenticity is a growing trend – who am I, what is the meaning I want to create in my life, with what kind of people can I increase my knowledge and develop myself, is the organisation I’m working for authentic – do the actions correspond to the words used

PBL EMPOWERS THE INDIVIDUAL
Responsibility for own learning and own development increases Critical thinking increases Ability to accept unsecurity and chaos increase Trust in own thoughts and ideas is increasing (this is the most valuable and difficult issue for individuals) Deep, psychological processes and experiences affect this ability Emotional processes start, when awareness increases and challenges are faced However, the individual is being born in relation to others – only feedback enables personal growth
