4 Eco-Locomotives – Georgia and Pennsylvania
Macon: 4 switcher locomotives, final agreement executed, awaiting construction TOTAL: $6.2million FEDERAL: $4.34million NS: $1.86million Pittsburgh: 2 mother slug sets, final agreement pending TOTAL: $5million FEDERAL: $2.6million NS: $2.4million The Shorepower Systems used within each locomotive are EPA Smart Way certified

5 Eco-Locomotives and SmartWay
SmartWay is an EPA initiative which works to advance sustainable transportation supply chains The Eco-Locomotives in the Macon and Pittsburgh yards are installed with Sharepower Systems certified by SmartWay These projects demonstrate to the EPA that NS is committed to environmentally friendly innovations

6 Pittsburgh Doublestack Clearance Project
Construction proposed at 9 bridge-track intersections to allow for doublestacked intermodal traffic to run on the Pittsburgh Line, rather than the Mon Line Partnership between Norfolk Southern, Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, and the City of Pittsburgh TOTAL: $30,599,000 PennDOT: $20,085,900 NS: $10,513,100 Application Approval Pending

9 Sunbury Corridor Improvement Project
Three highway at-grade crossings will be closed and eight will be updated Part of series of comprehensive improvements to enhance safety along a rail corridor from Harrisburg to Lock Haven, Pa TOTAL: $5million FRA: $2.5million NS: $2.5million Application Approval Pending

10 Roanoke Shop Expansion
Stalled Enhance Roanoke Locomotive Shop in order to add increased capacity for rebuilding and upgrading locomotives State money - $625,000 for project $1million given for relocation assistance

11 Biden Visits Memphis Regional Intermodal Facility
“If we do not improve our infrastructure – if we do not improve it – we will not take advantage of being able to lock down for the next 40 years that we remain the best place in the world to invest.” The intermodal facility was funded in part by a $52.5million grant through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 Most of the remaining $125million cost was covered by Norfolk Southern
