According to the Conflict Assessment System Tool (CAST) Nigeria isn’t doing so hot. Scores: 1 (Best), 10 (Worst) Total Score = 120 (Complete State Collapse.)

II. Social Welfare Education
84.7 % of Nigerians were literate (2004 data) Men being the more literate gender by 5%. 74% of children who start their education will make it to the fifth grade. Comparing Nigeria to other countries like Kenya actually declare Nigeria the better country.

Nigerians lack many rights that Americans take for granted. The Judiciary of Nigeria has way to much power; such as the ability to close a twitter feed. Other examples include “extrajudicial killings and use of excessive force by security forces; impunity for abuses by security forces; arbitrary arrests; prolonged pretrial detention; judicial corruption and executive influence on the judiciary; rape, torture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment of prisoners, detainees and suspects; “

IV. Environment Environment
While the Niger Delta isn’t being fought over it damaging the environment. It experience major oil spills which destroys the nearby fauna. Deforestation Soil Degradation Global Warming Lack of Water and Sewage treatment Pollution

V. Population and Migration
As of 2003 the population of Nigeria was 124,009,000. It was the 10th most populated country in the world. 44% of the population was under 15 101 males to 100 females. Migration rate in 2000 was -0.2 immigrants per 1000 population

VI. Economic Development
Currently Nigeria’s economy is dependent on oil prices, although Nigeria is trying to branch out to prevent the boom and bust cycle of oil. Obasanjo supported market driven economic improvement
