Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the Dover District SLT proactively provides care for local churches through coaching, resourcing, guiding, accountability, and partnership with them.

The Strategic Leadership is developing an initial questionnaire for church leaders. Questions like…

Who should you be? What should you know? What should you do? Based upon a biblical model and the answers to these questions, you must develop core competencies & ministry opportunities in response = vision development

mathetes – a trained one; not just a student but one who follows the teaching

15 Discipleship God leads us along the way – sanctification - I Thess 5:23 Discipleship affects the whole person: intellect – Col 3:10, emotions – Gal 5:22, will – Phil 2:13, spirit – II Cor 7:1, physical – I Thess 5:23

16 Discipleship We should be involved in spiritual formation - process concerned with the holistic growth and development of the individual. The goal of education is learning or understanding; the goal of spiritual formation is maturity. Our goal of Christlikeness = brings God glory!

“Intentionally preparing for and pursuing opportunities to personally share the gospel of Jesus Christ with those who are unsaved in the power of the Holy Spirit while leaving the results to God.”

24 Being Evangelistic includes:
Engagement in an intentional relationship with God and His People Recognition - Missio Dei – His harvest Salvation – what does it mean to be saved? Identification – baptism and church membership Participation - biblical tasks, core competencies – be, know, do

25 Being Evangelistic includes:
Engagement in an intentional relationship with the world and its people Overcoming barriers Developing burden Praying evangelistically Building intentional bridges of relationship Leading a conversation to Christ Sharing your personal testimony Using Gospel tools Memorizing a Gospel presentation Large events, small groups and evangelism

26 Praying Evangelistically
Pray for. . . Receptivity Exposure Acceptance Commitment Honor Praying Evangelistically

27 Pray for. . .Receptivity Pray that the hearts of the unchurched will be open to the truth of the gospel (I Cor. 1:18, 23-24; 2:14). Pray that fellow believers will be receptive to joining you in prayer and outreach (Matt. 9:38)

28 Pray for. . .Exposure Pray that the opportunity to share the Gospel will be open (Col. 4:2-6). Pray that you will build relational and spiritual bridges to the lost (Rom. 10:14-15). Pray that you will be bold in sharing the Gospel (Eph. 6:18-20).

29 Pray for. . .Acceptance Pray that the lost will accept the truth of the Gospel (Rom. 10:9-11). Pray that you will accept the command of the Great Commission (Matt. 28:18-20).

30 Pray for. . .Commitment Pray that those accepting Christ will commit their lives to Him and His church (II Cor. 5:15; Heb. 10:25). Pray that you will commit to persistent prayer for the lost and obedience to God in outreach and evangelism (Rom. 12:1-2).

31 Pray for. . .Honor Pray that God would be honored by the lives that are changed and the growth of His church (Eph. 2: 19-22) Pray that God will be honored and glorified by your prayer and your life (Psalm 96:3-4).
