Repentance leads to change!
3
Luke 3:7-14
4
What is repentance? Not the same as being sorry (2 Cor 7:9-10).
Not changing lives (“the fruit of repentance”). Repentance is a change of heart that leads to a change of life.

Repentance leads to change!
6
Three steps to bringing forth “the fruit of repentance.”
7
One: You change your thinking.
“Out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies” (Matt 15:19). What do you need to do to change your thinking about your sin?
8
Two: You serve others. That’s precisely what John tells these folks to do! In order to change behavior, you must replace bad behavior with good behavior. Matt 12:43-45. Eph 4:22-24. Find someone whom you can serve this week.
9
Three: You focus on priorities.
That’s what John tells the tax collectors & soldiers. The tax collectors & soldiers are cautioned about money. Money is necessary & can be a great tool for good. However, sometimes we have so much “stuff” that God gets choked out of our lives. “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind” (Matt 22:37). If we focus on God, the things of this world will lose importance.

Where is your focus this morning?
