2 Why has assessment changed?
Government initiative ‘Assessment without levels’. No more level 2 as expected achievement for Y2 and level 4 for Y6. Each primary school free to choose own systems. Old system had been altered from original intentions ie abc

3 What system are Staunton & Corse Academy adopting?
We are using ‘Below’, ‘Within’ and ‘Secure’ bands. Bands generally apply to year groups i.e. 1 – 6. These are for end of year expectations so most pupils will not reach within or secure until June/July. Some pupils may be working, for example, at band 3 whilst in Year 5. . 6 New Style Tests Year 2 Reading – 2 papers, all will read a booklet
Maths – 2 papers Grammar, punctuation & spelling test English still teacher assessed

7 New style tests Year 6 Reading
Maths – 2 papers arithmetic and reasoning – no mental maths paper Grammar Punctuation and Spelling – written paper and spelling ‘fill the gap’ sentences

8 Interim assessment frameworks
MUST MEET ALL OF THE ASSESSMENT STATEMENTS

9 Will be based, like GCSEs on how pupils have scored nationally.
Results Will be given on a scaled score – mark from test will be converted to a score of around 100. Will be based, like GCSEs on how pupils have scored nationally. Don’t know yet whether this will be from 90 – 120, 0r 95 – 110 or Believed result will be given as ‘at expected standard’, ‘exceeding expected standard’ and three different ‘have not met expected standard’ levels for Year 6!

KS1 writing – all !.? with grammar & spelling – only imaginative part is noun phrases Must stay true to our principles, engaging and inspiring children – will they use ‘beautiful’ or ‘nice’??????
