2 Let Me Introduce Myself with Numbers
5 is the number of daughters my husband and I are the proud parents of. 21 is how many National Parks I have visited so far. 7.5 is how many years that I have taught math. Contact information: et NOTE: Insert a photo of yourself or a picture that illustrates/represents your content area or one of your hobbies. To change the image on this slide, select the picture and delete it. Then click the Pictures icon in the placeholder to insert your own image. Give parents/students a little information about who you are. Keep this short to the point in no more than 3 bulleted statements that tell something unique/interesting/personal about you. For example, you may list a few of your favorite things, something you are passionate about, family, hobbies, education, accomplishments, etc. Provide your contact information.

3 Our Focus on Learning Secondary IH Mathematics
Solving systems of equations and inequalities Understanding and identifying arithmetic and geometric sequences Connecting transformations and congruence Using one and two-variable statistics Modeling with vectors and matrices NOTE: Add the title of your course. For example: Our Focus on Learning Earth Science In as few words as possible, list what students will know and/or be able to do at the end of the year (or semester). This could be a bulleted list or a sentence.

4 Classroom Policies and Procedures
Students earn their grades by making progress towards/reaching the learning goals for the term. You can see these goals on your gold progress tracker. Expect some math homework daily. Engage fully in class activities. I am happy to help before or after school. (I am only here on A-days.) NOTE: List rules/policies/procedures specific to your classroom (as opposed to school-wide policies/procedures). Consider policies for tardies/absences, late/missing work, homework/testing. Consider procedures for turning in work, picking up handouts and assignments when returning from an absence, etc. Also conside

5 Supply List TI-84 Plus Graphing Calculator Red pen Pencil with eraser
Dry-erase marker Rag or other whiteboard eraser Paper 3 ring binder (or large section of one) to keep class handouts in order. NOTE: List what parents need to provide and what students need to bring to class everyday, like pens/paper, calculator, colored pencils, highlighters, reading book, pocket folders, 3-ring binders, dividers, instruments, clothing/shoes, etc. Also, list any materials that will be required for projects/presentations that parents may need to plan for, like tri-fold display board, pop bottles for rockets, fabric, paints, popsicle sticks, string, straws, etc.

6 How to be Successful in this Course
This is best accomplished by: Working hard and being actively engaged during class time. Asking questions if something doesn’t make sense. Doing all assigned work with the intent of understanding it. Being willing to seek out extra help if needed. You will get an A if you master the learning goals of this class. NOTE: This slide may be optional This slide is where you set your expectations for the course and let parents know how to help their students be successful.
