Manual Appointment Scheduling The Appointment Book Should have enough space for all pertinent information (e.g., patient’s name, telephone number, reason for visit) Should be divided into time units appropriate for your practice (e.g., 10- or 15-minute intervals) Should open flat on the desk where it will be used Should fit easily into its storage place when not in use Along with the notations in a patient’s chart, the pages of the appointment book provide documentation of a patient’s visits and any changes, such as cancellations and rescheduled appointments.
