Why do I NEED Driver Education? I can drive!

5 to 7 Years According to the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety, young drivers crash at a much higher rate than other drivers and as a group take 5 to 7 years of driving before they have the ability to drive in a mature and reduced-risk manner. Driver Education is the beginning of those 5 to 7 years. Your instructors are here to teach you the skills, laws, and attitudes necessary to not only make it past those 5 to 7 years, but enjoy many, many more years of safe and enjoyable driving!

Idaho Teen Driver Statistics
Drivers under age 19 are 2.3 times more likely to be involved in fatal or injury traffic collisions. Teen drivers make up about 7% of all licensed drivers in Idaho but are involved in nearly 17% of all driver collisions and 16% of fatal and injury collisions! Why? Rev 2/2005

Classroom hours: 30 Driving hours: 6 Observation hours: 6 * Remember: This is just the beginning of the 5 to 7 years of driving practice necessary to become a skilled driver!

Let’s Talk About Schedules
Class is 2:55 to 4:25 on M-W-F Behind-the-Wheel is 90 minute drives scheduled with the car instructors

2nd Absence – Makeup or failure 3rd absence = failure All missed drives must be made up Unarranged driving absences = $20 Tardiness

Session 1 is September and October Session 2 is November to Semester’s End Session 3 is Mid January to Spring Break Session 4 is April and May

Click on the Parents and Students Tab Click on the Driver’s Education Link Click on How to Register Fill out the form

Signing Up Step 3: Wait!! After the registration deadline we contact everyone by . Don’t pay the bookkeeper until after the orientation meeting. Make sure you are on time to orientation
