Colonists started training new militia soldiers called minutemen
Mass. Gov. (Gen. Thomas Gage) sent troops to Concord, MA to seize arms and colonial leaders for British
When the troops left, Patriots Paul Revere & William Dawes sent word to minutemen (British are coming!)
Gage ordered minutemen to go home  NO!  Shots fired!  Becomes first shot of American Revolution
